THEME: Already, Not Yet
1 Peter 1: 3-9
"...an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you,..."
We want students to know the hope that Christ gives us for eternal life, and the way that hope impacts our purpose and meaning as we richly experience it in the here and now.
We live in a world that often seems void of hope, meaning, and purpose as it is cluttered with brokenness and sin. In the midst of this, where do we find hope? This winter we want students to see the imperishable and undefiled hope we have in Christ and that we were made for eternity. Typically, students think about eternal life as only something that is realized upon death, but this winter we want students to understand that eternal life is experienced now when we walk with Christ and know him this side of eternity. We desire for students to realize that Christ alone gives our lives meaning and purpose and is also the only remedy to the brokenness and sin that is pervasive in this world. Christ gives us hope for eternity and purpose in the here and now as we live in light of that hope.
